MEETING MINUTES
—July 9, 2012

1. Called meeting to order @ 6:04PM Joe Mattei, Marvin Peck, & Jim Richardson present

2. Elected new Chairman - Unanimously elected Marvin as chairman for FY2013

3. Reviewed mail:

  • Deeds & Plans
  • Cherry Sheet Estimates - FY2013
  • ATB Informal Filings (3)Oles & Apex Orchards(2) - (30 days to change to Formal- 7/11 & 8/2)
  • MCI Communications ATB filing notice
  • Business District Building Valuations for FRCOG
  • Email to Selectboard about Verizon NE ATB Decision for 2009 Personal Property - Appeals Court ruled in favor of Verizon New England - Poles & Wires should not have been taxed for FY2009 - Potential abatements: Town = $25,173.24 Fire District = $1,766.19 Town overlay remaining for 2009 = $11,432.86 potential to raise at least $14,000 on recap FY2014
  • Certification of Town Meeting Appropriations for FY2013

8. Old Business

  • Is the evaporator at Gould's Sugar House & Restaurant personal property? Unanimously agreed to remove evaporator from their personal property list. It is considered farm equipment by the assessors, which is exempt from farm excise & personal property.
  • Section 5 Excise Bills - do not send - most farm plates - agreed to send bills next year for repair & business plate owners
  • Bousquet/Stevens information on land - lot includes a house now records to be changed
  • Should Dole be removed from Chapter Status? Unanimously agreed that he should remain on Chapter 61A. Jim will contact him again concerning the Management Plan

9. New Business

  • McAllister Map 28 Parcel 17 Commercial lot @$85,000 - Apex Orchards parcel 
    with store is regular lot price? We will wait to see what the use will be when it is sold
  • Blackmers barn is partially torn down, no permit yet
  • Reviewed property card updates for visits - valuations approved by assessors
  • Revaluation cost for Fy2014 will be the same as last time per Roy Bishop - do we want him to inspect some interiors for an extra fee? No, we will do inspections as necessary
