Selectmen Meeting Minutes — November 29, 2011—4:30 p.m. —
Memorial Hall

Call to order: John called the meeting to order. Other members present: Bob Manners and Joe Judd.

Order of Business:
Personnel Policies & Practices Relative to Injuries "On the Job" and Injuries "Off" the Job - Terry Mosher and Donna MacNicol worked collaboratively to develop personnel policy revisions that address protocol for employees who suffer injury both on and off the job. Board members reviewed the policy language and suggested minor revisions. Upon completion of the review, Joe presented a motion to adopt the policy as revised. Bob seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.

The Town currently has two employees who are out on medical leave for non job-related injuries/medical procedures. Each individual will receive written notice of the policy changes.

Other Business:
Cowell Gym Mold Remediation - representatives from Aspen Environmental met Joe at the Cowell Gymnasium this afternoon to assess the overall condition of the building. Joe reported that the Town may have to spend approximately $4,000 to $5,000 for an Industrial Analysis which is performed by a certified engineer. He will report more at the next meeting.

Letter to Planning Board RE: Zoning By-Law Review - John is drafting a letter to the Planning Board Chairman suggesting that his Board work with the Zoning Board to review the town's bylaws with respect to large scale energy projects like the recently proposed Wind Farm.

Internal Posting for Highway Laborer Position - The deadline for submitting a resume for the position of Highway Laborer expired as of 4:00 p.m. this afternoon. No one expressed interest in the position. Before taking any further action, Bob would like an opportunity to discuss with members of the Highway Department.

Adjournment: Bob presented a motion to adjourn the meeting at 5:10 p.m. Joe seconded the motion. Motion passed.

Respectfully submitted,

Terry Mosher
Town Administrator
